The Tangle Globe Pendant Light featured in New York and Paris Collections http://ping.fm/8GkmN
Marquette Turner love cool lights, and this design from Tord Boontje – with its natural element – is a highlight, proving that sometimes the simplest things are the most dazzling. The glass design has been created for Artecnica and combines transparent glass and etched metal “reminiscent of museum glass
cases that preserve samples of luxurious, exotic vegetation found in remote, pristine jungles.”

As we continue to look at overseas property that catches our eye, Villa Mecklin in the coastal area around the Finnish community of Velkua is certainly an architectural project worth noting. We’re told that even smaller residences can take many years to complete but for the design and construction of Villa
Mecklin, however, the team at Huttunen-Lipasti-Pakkanen Architects was afforded a little grace when it came to the time frame.

The Modern Sliding Kitchen Work-Top by Minimal http://bit.ly/iAex28
After the bedroom, we spend the majority of time at home in the kitchen. So it stands to reason that the room should be an end place to use, rather than being an after-thought in the design
department.
Design guru’s Minimal have certainly taken this to heart, with their sliding work-top which is a tribute to both contemporary design & minimalism.

(approximately $43,900 USD), putting a lavish price on the priceless.
The Veuve Clicquot champagne – preserved perfectly because of the conditions of dark and cold on the seabed and reported to be the oldest in the world – was purchased by an anonymous bidder
from Singapore.

recognising the graceful reflection.

Luxury Timber Bathrooms. Modern Italian Design and Classic Craftsmanship
http://ping.fm/x6GFv
With true Italian style the Flora Style Fusion bathroom line creates a
polished blend of elegance and intricacy using the most sumptuous and
smooth of timber materials.
The Italian company creates unique pieces with imprinted veneer designs
of exceptional quality, masterfully melding contemporary forms and
design with classic craftsmanship.
But is such fusion timeless or will its star quickly fade? Is such
design suitable for the home or would it be better placed in a luxury
hotel? What do you think?
Twister Restaurant Concept in Kiev, Ukraine: Sumptuous Design Thats
Good Enough to Eat http://ping.fm/DlKhU
When a restaurant looks sumptuous from the moment you walk in, your
dining experience is already enhanced even before youve taken a bite of
food.
Twister is a new restaurant concept proposed for a space in Kiev, the
capital of Ukraine. The design team, Sergey Makhno and Vasily Butenko
also of Kiev, work on residential and commercial interiors and
architecture but its particularly their furniture and sculptural
approach to interiors which are fascinating eye-candy.

Armless Chinese Artist Paints Using Only His Teeth and Feet
http://ping.fm/59erl
Losing an ear didnt seem to detract from Vincent Van Goghs artistic
skill, but Chinese artist Huang Guofus use of only his mouth and feet
is quite remarkable.
Self-taught, after his father became ill an 18 year old Guong 18 chose
to leave school and pursue painting as a profession in order to help pay
for his fathers medical treatments. He started selling his art on his
local streets and some were purchased, albeit generally through sympathy
and for charitable amounts.
Follow the link to watch the video of Huang Guofu in action.

The Strand Craft Super Yacht with a Super Car
http://ping.fm/DDGpI
The conceptual Strand-Craft-166, a somewhat stealth-like looking craft
that is certainly super in every sense of the word, and unsurprisingly
features a floating “garage” in the aft.
The yacht would certainly not look out of place in a James Bond movie.
There is a retractable fly-bridge, a hidden spa that features a built-in
bar, and the living area boasts five double ensuite staterooms equipped
with 52-inch Bang & Olufsen televisions, mood lighting and there’s even
the option of the upholstery being crafted from bullet-proof Japanese
Samurai tread leather.

The Rising Chair: We never thought it possible, but flat-pack furniture
can be at the cutting edge of of design!
http://ping.fm/jukRs
(click on the link to read more and see more images)
Created by Dutch designer Robert van Embricqs, The Rising Chair was
borne from one fundamental question: "To what degree is the object
you're creating capable of dictating its own design?"
With straightforward beam-like wood strands, The Rising Chair is formed
by a grid-like pattern that "blossoms" into what seems like a complex
flower petal.
